Agriculture and climate change

The agriculture committee will hold a hearing on agriculture and climate change. Experts will give presentations on carbon sequestration in farm soils, reducing methane emissions, adaptation measures, climate change scenarios, the benefit of agri-environment schemes and the impact of climate change on biodiversity. ECR agriculture coordinator Jim Nicholson will express concern that agriculture is becoming a target for attacks, particularly considering that it represents a sustainable 'carbon lock'.
