Budget discharge

The parliament will begin the process of discharging the EU's 2008 budget, which received a qualified statement of assurance from the Court of Auditors late last year. The committee will investigate the commission, parliament and EU agencies this week, with exchanges of views with commissioners Potocnik, Tajani, Ferrero-Waldner, Kallas and Semeta. ECR budgetary control coordinator Ryszard Czarnecki is the parliament's rapporteur on the discharge of the more contentious Council of Ministers' budget.
