European Council

7th - 11th December 2009

EU heads of state and government will hold their final summit of the year. On the agenda will be Financial Market Supervision and the Stockholm programme for Justice and Home Affairs for the next five years. ECR chairman Michal Kaminski will argue that European regulators must act as coordinators of national supervisors rather than having the power to overrule them. He will also argue that much of the Stockholm programme moves too far from cooperation to compulsion in matters relating to asylum and civil law policy.
