Financial supervision

The parliament will hold a hearing on financial supervision with a contribution from Jacques de Larosière who wrote a report last year which led to proposals for the establishment of a pan European Systemic Risk Board and three new supervisory authorities. ECR economic coordinator Kay Swinburne will question the co-ordination of activity, ultimate responsibility and accountability of these new authorities whilst raising reservations about whether such regulators should have binding powers of intervention over the heads of national regulators.
