Financial supervision

22nd to 28th February 2009 - Brussels

The parliament's economic and monetary affairs committee will begin debating new proposals regarding future supervision of financial markets. The commission has put forward proposals to increase financial supervision at EU level with four new authorities to monitor banking, insurance, securities and systemic risk. ECR economic and monetary affairs coordinator Kay Swinburne will respond for the group.
