The parliament's fisheries committee will adopt its report on the commission's Green Paper on the long-awaited reform of the Common Fisheries Policy. ECR fisheries coordinator Marek Grobarczyk will argue that the CFP should be decentralised so that more decisions regarding fish stocks can be made locally rather than by Brussels bureaucrats.
He will also argue that the quota system, functioning under the current Common Fisheries Policy has been compromised and we should seek more effective instruments, such as the management of fishing effort.
