Package Travel Directive

The parliament will ask the commission for an update on the revision of the Package Travel Directive, expected at the start of 2011. The directive needs to be updated to take into account the growing number of holidaymakers who book their holidays themselves via the internet, rather than via a travel agent. The parliament's question deals with mis-selling of hotel rooms, car rentals, bankruptcies and passenger compensation.

ECR internal market spokesman Adam Bielan will speak in favour of a revision of the directive.
