Professional qualifications

The chairman and the ECR coordinator of the internal market committee, Malcolm Harbour and Adam Bielan, have put forward a question to the European Commission, whose answer will lead to a parliamentary debate on the failure of all EU governments to meet the deadline for transposing a 2005 directive which would allow professional qualifications to be mutually recognised across the EU. As supporters of the free movement of workers across the Single Market, ECR members will be asking what concerns national governments had, and how the commission will monitor the application of the directive.
